ASUS has silently introduced its latest mainstream gaming notebook, the G74. It features a 17.3-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and an available 3D screen.
The 17.3-inch display has a full HD (1080p) resolution; one model features a 3D version of the screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Other specifications of the notebook include a second-generation Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core mobile processor, two 750GB 7200RPM hard drives, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M graphics card, and a backlit keyboard.
Pricing and Availability
There are two models currently available: the G74SX-A1 ($1,745) and the G74SX-3DE ($1,979). The notebooks have the specifications mentioned above; the difference is that the -3DE model has a 3D screen and a Blu-ray burner as opposed to the standard screen and Blu-ray reader of the -A1 model. Both notebooks include a gaming mouse and backpack and should be available for purchase June 28, 2011.
